Macro is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Smith as the Head of FM Consultancy MENA. With an extensive background in Facilities Management (FM) and consultancy in the UK and most recently six years in Saudi Arabia, Tim brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Macro’s growing operations in the Middle East.

Tim commenced in Saudi Arabia with the mobilisation of a new FM delivery contract for Serco with the Fakeeh Hospital Group in Jeddah, having previously led a Serco NHS contract in the UK.

After moving to Riyadh to join the Serco contract with EXPRO in January 2020, Tim was a key contributor to the National Manual of Asset and Facilities Management (NMAFM), subsequently undertaking reviews of FM delivery in Government entities, identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies and improved delivery outcomes. From here Tim moved to NEOM, where he headed up the Oxagon FM organisation, leading the development of the future strategy and operational design modelling.

A strategic move to Macro

Tim explains "Macro offers an incredible platform to drive innovation in facilities management while ensuring our clients optimise their operations and investments. The company’s reputation, market credibility, and people-centric culture make it an ideal environment to contribute to the region’s rapid development."

Tim is inspired by the ambition and energy of Saudi Arabia’s business landscape. "Saudi Arabia is a dynamic country with an unwavering commitment to growth and transformation. The bold mindset and fast-paced execution of projects here create an exciting atmosphere to work in," he added.

Looking ahead

Macro continues to expand its presence in the Middle East, with a strong focus on sustainable growth and tailored solutions for its clients. Tim’s appointment underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing its FM consultancy services and supporting the ambitious vision of its clients and growth in the region.

"We are thrilled to welcome Tim to Macro," said Parris Ullrich Operations Director at Macro MENA & APAC. "His expertise and leadership will be instrumental in strengthening our presence in the Middle East and delivering everyday excellence to our clients."

As Macro advances its strategic goals in the region, Tim is eager to play a key role in shaping the future of FM consultancy and ensuring the company’s continued success.
