A commitment to doing the right thing

At Macro, our clients are some of the most influential and visible brands in the world. As such, they have an enormous responsibility to preserve valuable resources and leave a positive legacy on their communities and the world.

As their strategic and operational partner, Macro is committed to helping them to achieve both their sustainability and social value objectives, as well as our own. For decades, we have worked alongside our clients to achieve both the big wins and the small, from operational carbon reduction and energy savings to limiting single-use-plastic, reducing waste, saving water, and encouraging sustainable behaviours.

On the heels of becoming an independent business separate from the Mace Group, we have set the following Sustainability Objectives for Macro. While 2025 will be a year of transition for us as we establish our own metrics, our objectives also reflect the unwavering scale of our commitment moving forward:

Adhere to our Carbon Reduction Plan and work towards being a Net Zero business
Gain external recognition of our ESG programs by 2025, whilst maintaining our ISO14001 certification
Work with our clients to support their roadmaps to reduce their environmental impacts and carbon footprint and monitor our progress
Establish a global and regional charity and volunteering strategy that engages the talents and passion of our employees and supply chain to support local communities and global needs
Encourage our supply chain to develop their own ESG programs and commitments and growing our % spend with ethical, diverse and sustainable suppliers
Work with our suppliers to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or within our supply chains
Build our internal ESG capability and capacity in support of our objectives.

Responsible business

To steer our objectives and hold us accountable to meeting them, we have established a Macro Responsible Business Committee, with executive management sponsorship and expert subject matter participation. This employee committee is responsible for developing our ESG policies, strategy and annual plans and tracking our progress against them.

Social value

At Macro, the flexibility of our operating model makes it possible for us to freely employ local people and engage local SMEs. We work with our clients to identify the causes most meaningful to them, and seek to serve those causes through our work. In addition, our Social Value Working Group, made up of passionate employees from each region, promotes the support of local communities and global concerns through volunteering, charitable support and other means.
