
This November, colleagues across Macro took part in the traditional Movember movement – growing moustaches, sparking conversations, and raising money to support vital research and support services for men’s health. This year, our people embraced the challenge through Macro Moves for Movember, where colleagues could either grow a ‘Mo’ or get moving by walking, running or cycling.
Together, the team clocked an incredible 381.7km and raised £2367 for the charity, whilst raising awareness and vital funds for causes including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
But we wanted to take things one step further.
H2: Opening the conversation: A safe space for men’s health
Our Wellbeing Team brought men from across the business together for an open, honest, and powerful conversation about the challenges men face, both physically and mentally.
This Movember, that effort included a dedicated Lunch & Learn session focused on real experiences and practical support. The discussion covered mental health, cancer awareness, stigma, and the importance of speaking up. Key takeaways included the value of persistent, compassionate questioning when checking on someone; recognising both subtle and sudden behavioural changes as potential signs of crisis; and the importance of being willing to ask direct questions about suicidal thoughts.
Speakers also reinforced that health issues such as testicular cancer can affect men of all ages and encouraged colleagues to use available health resources including the Movember website’s tools for navigating difficult conversations. More information is available on the Movember website.
The openness and courage shown by colleagues who shared their personal stories created a supportive environment where people felt safe to listen, learn and connect. It was a powerful reminder of how meaningful it is when we provide space for honest conversations.
H2: Building a culture where everyone can be themselves

When colleagues feel able to talk honestly, ask questions without judgement, and support one another, we grow stronger as individuals and as a community.
Movember is about much more than moustaches – it’s about breaking silence, challenging stigma, and ensuring people never feel they have to face difficult moments alone. We’re incredibly proud of how our colleagues embodied this spirit throughout the month and during the call many shared their own personal experiences.
