Solar panels on a facilities roof

Powering progress: Solar rollout delivers fast results

Author: Tom Shorrocks, Senior Facilities Manager

We’re proud to share the successful delivery of a major solar PV installation at a financial services client UK site, reinforcing our commitment to practical, high-impact sustainability initiatives.

Over a nine-week programme, 393 new solar panels were installed across the site’s three main buildings, spanning nine south-facing roofs. The project was delivered in partnership with UCS Renewables and managed end to end internally.

 The impact at a glance

The numbers speak for themselves:

  • 393 panels installed across three buildings
  • 9 south-facing roofs utilised
  • Estimated annual generation: 181,500 kWh
  • Estimated annual saving: approximately £60,000
  • Return on investment: just 2.06 years

And the benefits are already being felt.

Within just a few weeks of operation in November and December 2025, the new panels have generated enough solar power to deliver £2,000 in savings, a strong early indicator of the long-term value of the investment.

Building on existing infrastructure

This latest phase builds on the site’s existing renewable infrastructure. The building already houses 227 panels and four inverters, meaning the site now benefits from a total of 620 solar panels. Together, these installations significantly reduce reliance on grid electricity, lower operational costs, and contribute to meaningful carbon reduction, while also improving the long-term resilience of the estate.

A model for what’s possible

Projects like this demonstrate how targeted investment, strong contractor partnerships and focused project management can deliver rapid, measurable sustainability outcomes.

Well done to everyone involved in making this happen, and especially to the teams who helped bring the project from concept to live generation in just nine weeks.
