People spotlight: Jo Alice Torres
Tell me about yourself and your current role.
My name is Jo Alice, but most people know me as Joa. I began my career in facilities management many years ago but took a break to focus on raising my children and traveling. During this time, I had the incredible opportunity to live in both Chicago and Buenos Aires.
About a year and a half ago, I decided to return to work, and I am now a Facilities Coordinator for Spain and Portugal, supporting Macro's leading global insurance client.
Who have been your strongest influences in life?
The most influential person in my life has been my mother. She was incredibly hardworking, kind, strong, and brave. Her perseverance and generosity have been a constant inspiration to me, shaping my values and principles.
What do you enjoy most about your current role at Macro?
The dynamic nature of my job is what I enjoy the most—no two days are the same, which keeps things interesting and challenging. I love having the opportunity to support and empower my team while also helping our clients achieve their goals. It’s incredibly rewarding to make a positive impact both internally and externally.
I also appreciate the collaborative and innovative culture at Macro, which fosters growth and continuous learning.
What motivates you every day?
My passion for what I do is my biggest motivator. I genuinely enjoy every aspect of my role, and that enthusiasm drives me to strive for excellence in everything I do.
What skills do you need to be good as a Facilities Coordinator?
To excel in my role, I rely on several key skills, including:
