Macro QHSEW Team wins RoSPA Inspiration Award for Health and Safety Team of the Year (UK)

National recognition for excellence in health, safety and wellbeing

Macro's Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing (QHSEW) team has been recognised with the RoSPA Inspiration Award for Health and Safety Team of the Year (UK), one of the highest honors presented by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The award celebrates teams that have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation and impact in advancing health, safety and wellbeing. Significantly, only two awards are presented globally within this category each year, one recognising a UK-based team and one recognising an international team.

This recognition comes alongside Macro's achievement of a RoSPA President's Award for attaining Gold Award status for the 13th consecutive year, making 2026 a landmark year for the organisation's health, safety and wellbeing performance.

The awards continued with a further win for the Macro and Colt Technology Services team who received their 4th Gold Award, for continued excellent safety standards.

Recognition built on long-term commitment

While the President's Award recognises Macro's sustained excellence in health, safety and wellbeing over more than a decade, the Inspiration Award shines a spotlight on the team driving that success every day.

The QHSEW team works across Macro's global operations, partnering with operational teams, clients and suppliers to embed health, safety and wellbeing into every aspect of service delivery. From strengthening governance and regulatory compliance to sharing lessons learned and promoting proactive reporting, the team plays a key role in ensuring that safety is more than a process – it is part of the culture.

Winning the Health and Safety Team of the Year (UK) award demonstrates the impact of this approach and recognises the team's dedication to creating safer workplaces and supporting continual improvement across the business.

Matt Cryer, Head of Awards at RoSPA

“RoSPA congratulate Macro Global as winners of the Team of the Year (UK) award, in this year’s RoSPA Health and Safety Awards. Their success is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team, of which they should be rightfully proud, and which RoSPA is delighted to honour.  2026 is a landmark year for the RoSPA Awards as we reflect on how far workplace safety has come in 70 years. It is because of the commitment of health and safety teams like Macro Global, that people today are safer at work than in the past, and sets an inspiring example for the future.”

Delivering impact across a global business

Health, safety and wellbeing at Macro are not treated as standalone functions. They are integrated into everyday decision-making, helping to protect employees, clients, contractors and building users across multiple regions and sectors.

Over the past year, the QHSEW team has continued to strengthen Macro's health and safety framework through improved governance, enhanced incident learning, proactive risk management, contractor assurance programs and a strong focus on employee engagement and Wellbeing.

By encouraging open reporting, sharing lessons learned and promoting a culture where people feel comfortable speaking up, the team has helped drive positive safety outcomes while supporting operational excellence across the organisation.

A team achievement and a shared success

Although the award has been presented to the QHSEW team, it reflects the collective efforts of colleagues, clients and supply chain partners throughout the business.

Strong health and safety performance can only be achieved when everyone takes ownership, and this recognition is testament to the collaborative approach that exists across Macro's operations.

Together, the President's Award and the Inspiration Award demonstrate both the strength of Macro's long-term commitment to health, safety and wellbeing and the dedication of the people who continue to make that commitment a reality.

Peter Tayar-Watson, QHSEW Director at Macro, comments on the award:

"This recognition reflects the strength of our safety culture and the commitment of our people across the Macro business. Health, safety and wellbeing are embedded in everything we do, and this award is a testament to the collective effort to continuously raise standards and protect those we work with every day. I am so proud of my team, in how they work together and support each other to drive for improvements every day. People are safer because of what they do."

Looking ahead

As Macro continues to grow its global footprint, health, safety and wellbeing remain central to its strategy and values.

This award recognises not only what has been achieved, but also the team's ongoing commitment to innovation, collaboration and continual improvement. It serves as a reminder that creating safer, healthier workplaces is a shared responsibility and one that Macro remains committed to leading across the facilities management industry.
