Macro has been recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) President’s Award for achieving Gold Awards for the 13th consecutive year, demonstrating a sustained commitment to health, safety and wellbeing across its global operations.
The international RoSPA Awards programme is the UK’s largest and most impactful health and safety initiative, receiving nearly 2,000 entries annually from organisations across more than 50 countries and collectively impacting over seven million employees. Achieving Gold status for 13 consecutive years places Macro among a select group of organisations that have demonstrated long-term consistency in protecting people and continuously improving standards.
Importantly, the award recognises not only health and safety performance, but also the strength of Macro’s approach to wellbeing, reflecting a more holistic commitment to supporting people across its operations.

For Macro, this recognition reflects more than compliance. It signals an embedded culture where health, safety and wellbeing are integral to how services are delivered, how teams operate, and how environments are managed for clients across sectors and geographies.
Consistency at this level is built on strong foundations. Clear processes, defined accountability and a shared understanding of what good looks like ensure that high standards are not only set, but maintained over time.
Health and Safety at Macro is not treated as a standalone function. It is embedded into day-to-day operations, shaping how decisions are made and how services are delivered on the ground.
Over the past year, Macro has continued to strengthen its global health and safety framework, supported by robust governance, consistent reporting and the use of digital tools to enhance visibility and proactive risk management. Capturing incidents and near misses plays a critical role in this approach, enabling continuous learning and preventative action across the business.
The strength of Macro’s approach lies in its ability to translate insight into action at scale.
With operations spanning multiple regions, maintaining consistency requires more than policy. It depends on engaged teams, clear communication, trust, and a culture where responsibility is shared across all levels of the organisation and where people feel safe to speak up, share incidents and lessons learned.
This global recognition is particularly significant. While other organisations in the facilities management sector have achieved long-term RoSPA recognition within specific projects or divisions, Macro’s award reflects its global FM operations in their entirety, covering all regions and services. This breadth makes the achievement distinctive within the industry.
From frontline teams to leadership, health, safety and wellbeing are embedded into everyday behaviours, supported by strong performance metrics and continuous feedback loops.
Peter Tayar-Watson, QHSEW Director at Macro, said:
“Being recognised with the RoSPA Gold Award for the 13th consecutive year is a significant achievement for our business. It reflects the commitment of our people and the strength of the culture we have built over time.
Health and Safety is not a static process. It requires constant attention, continual improvement and a willingness to learn. For years now we have been openly sharing lessons learned from incidents across our business globally in a way that encourages active learning and creates an environment for people to speak up – what is known as physiological safety in the industry. Our collaboration with our suppliers is also key to achieving this award. And the results of years of hard work building this solid foundation and culture are paying off with improved reporting and lower incident rates. This recognition from RoSPA reinforces our focus on creating safe, supportive environments for our colleagues, clients and supply chain partners, wherever we operate.”
As Macro continues to expand its global footprint, maintaining high standards of health, safety and wellbeing remains central to its strategy.
This recognition is not only a reflection of what has been achieved, but a benchmark for what comes next. By continuing to invest in systems, people and processes, Macro is ensuring that growth is underpinned by consistency, resilience and care for the environments and communities it supports.
This achievement also positively impacts our clients – by ensuring their buildings remain safe and the facilities services we provide are delivered safely and compliantly, it helps protect their employees also. We also received a Gold Award for 4 consecutive years H&S excellence at our Colt Account across Europe, where our client has publicly recognised this previously stating that ‘At Colt and Macro, ‘Safety First’ is more than a principle - it’s a culture’.
The Award will be official presented to Macro at the 70th anniversary ceremony scheduled for June 30, 2026, in London.
