It’s hard to believe that it’s already been six months since I joined Macro. In that time, I’ve seen first-hand what makes this business truly unique - a commitment to people, a hunger for growth, and an ambition to deliver meaningful impact for our clients and communities.
When I look back at these first months, a few themes stand out: expansion, culture, and partnership.
Expanding Our Footprint in the Americas
When I stepped into this role, one of the key priorities was to grow our presence across the Americas. Not just for the sake of growth, but because we know our clients need localised expertise, backed by global standards.
We’ve already taken big strides. Our expanded Total Facilities Management (TFM) contract with a leading global retail brand - supporting over 120 stores across 40 U.S. states and 6 Canadian provinces, following our successful management of 70 retail locations across 13 countries in EMEA — is a defining moment. It reflects our ability to scale FM services across regions, deliver consistently in diverse markets, and strengthen our position as a trusted partner to global brands.
This project is more than just a contract win; it’s proof of what’s possible when we combine Macro’s deep technical expertise with a forward-looking, client-focused approach. And it’s only the beginning.
Culture at the Core
Growth alone isn’t enough. What has impressed me most since joining Macro is the culture — the genuine commitment to inclusion, belonging, and supporting people at every stage of life and career.
I’ve seen this in action through initiatives like our Parents and Carers event, where colleagues shared experiences of key life transitions — from returning to work after parental leave to children moving from primary to secondary school. These conversations matter. They build understanding, empathy, and stronger connections across the business.
I was also delighted to take part in our global Pride event, sharing the meaning of true allyship in the workplace, giving colleagues space to ask questions and share their learned experiences has been a standout moment for me.
That focus on people is what sets us apart. Whether it’s the pride our teams take in delivering projects for communities, or the way we invest in training and growth, there’s a sense of purpose that runs through everything we do.
Building Relationships, Not Transactions
Over the past few months, I’ve also had the privilege of sitting down with clients, both current and potential, across North America and LatAm. A clear theme emerges; trust and partnership are everything.
Every project starts with a conversation. What are your challenges? Who are you serving? What does success look like to you? When we take the time to listen, we move beyond being a vendor. We become a strategic partner, invested in shared success.
Our approach is not transactional. It’s transformational. We want to grow with our clients, challenge assumptions together, and co-create solutions that deliver long-term impact.
Looking Ahead
Six months in, I feel proud of what we’ve already achieved and even more excited about what’s ahead. With strong momentum in multiple sectors, a growing team across the Americas, and a culture that truly puts people first, Macro is positioned to make a real difference.
We’re hosting a series of virtual and in person events in the Autumn, sign up to our mailing list to be the first to hear about them.
To our clients: thank you for trusting us.
To our teams: thank you for bringing heart, humility, and drive every day.
And to those we’ve not yet met: I look forward to the conversations and collaborations to come.
The road ahead won’t always be easy, but I wouldn’t want to be on this journey with any other team. Together, we’re building something bold, sustainable, and full of purpose.
